FAQ
What should I wear?
Wear or bring loose fitting clothing to your acupuncture session, preferably a tank top and shorts.
Should I eat?
It is important to eat before you have an acupuncture treatment and best to avoid having any caffeine right before.
What does it treat?
Acupuncture treats athletic injuries, acute and chronic pain, stress, immune, and fatigue disorders, internal medical disorders of the respiratory, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and reproductive systems. Some examples are: neck, shoulder, hip, knee and back pain, repetitive strain injuries (carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, plantar fascitis), sciatica and piriformis syndrome, headaches/migraines, insomnia, GYN disorders, nausea, constipation, diarrhea and IBS, substance abuse and cessation of smoking, allergies and sinusitis.
What about after my treatment?
After an acupuncture treatment it is best to relax. Avoiding alcohol, intense physical activity, heavy or deep fried foods, and sexual activity the day of the acupuncture session help the body adapt to the input of energy from the acupuncture session. Make sure to hydrate.
How will I feel after my treatment?
Sensations vary from person to person. Most people feel very relaxed and a bit “out of it” for an hour or so. If you have muscle tension released, it is common to feel local soreness, which can last 12-48 hours post treatment.
